Escape Artist

One of the advantages/disadvantages (depending on whether it is me or Mom and Dad) of getting to go out on my deck is that I can't help myself getting the urge to go out into the "greater world". I will be good, good, good for quite a while and then I will suddenly jump over the screening that goes across the stairs and out into the garden. They always come after me and let me know that it is Not Allowed to do that, and "encourage" me to go back to the deck, where they reward me with some treats. (What they haven't worked out is that I escape when I get an urge to have some treats!). In this picture I am on the outside, waiting to be let back in again.

  1. I think that having a garden to go out in would be a very great temptation.

  2. The urge to go out into the "greater world" is the reason our mommy makes us stay inside. It's good you come back quickly though for your treats!

  3. I am jealous that you have a deck and a beautiful garden to escape into. I just have a carpeted hallway outside my door. Kissies, Audrey

  4. Simba we can tell by the look on your face that you are very interested in the wide world beyond the deck. Way to train your humans to give you treats by misbehaving!

  7. Maybe you want to be a Gardening Cat? They should put some plants for you on the deck to look after. We know that it's tough not to escape and fully understand, Simba. Take care though!

  8. Siena and Chilli:

I was thinking about the Gardening Cat thing, but felt that my garden times are almost all escapes. However since my folks WILL be putting planters on the deck, I think then I can become one, because it will be important for me to look after those plants. You know, snoopervising Dad watering and fertilizing and planting.
