And in the same mail, my mom and Dad got a notice from the town that all cats will have to have licenses starting in January. I assume that means a tag that I have to WEAR?

Fashion Friday
My Puppia Harness in Red Medium arrived in yesterday's mail. Mom insisted on trying it on me immediately, even though it was too wet to go outside. I "lost my bones" a little bit with it, but Mom is still hopeful that I will ultimately be willing to wear it with a leash for walks in the yard. Here are two pictures of me modelling it on my Favorite Blanket on the couch last night.

Tropical Storm Thundering Thursday
No pictures today. We are having a tropical storm with quite a lot of rain and thunder. Anyway, our whole garden appreciates the rain, but maybe not so much all at once.

Random Tuesday
In keeping with my plan to post a "random" picture on Tuesdays, I wanted to show you these pretty orchids from Mom and Dad's visit to the Orchid Show this past spring. I chose the yellow ones because I am thinking about my post for October 2nd, Livestrong Day. Are all of you going to do something special on your blogs for Livestrong Day?

Manly Blogoversary
Today is the one year anniversary of when I started my blog! It has been such a fun experience, because of all the great friends I have made all over the world. Thanks to everybody who reads my blog, especially those friends who comment often. I love reading your comments!Happy Monday, and purrs to anybody who is sad, or not feeling good today.

Sadness on Sunday
After a week when both Sniffie and Molly had to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge, we were so sad to learn yesterday that little Yuu-Chan had gotten his angel wings as well. Purrs go out to his dear #1, who we know is heartbroken to have lost her little boy at such a young age. Yuu was only just a little over a year old. The house in Perche will still be full with Tommy, Tama-Chan, Sei-Chan and Bibi-Chan there, but we know all of them keenly feel the loss of their little boy.
Mom helped me borrow the pictures here of Yuu-Chan - we hope #1 doesn't mind! We love them, each showing his handsomeness in a different way. He had such wonderful frootbat ears, and looked so handsome in the sunshine, and indoors as well. His coloring was always so magnificent.

As well as being a tribute to Yuu-Chan's short little life, I would like to dedicate this post to all the humans who have lost beloved pets this year, especially if they had to make the hard decision to help their dear ones to the Rainbow Bridge. In doing so, they gave their fur darlings the ultimate gift of love, to end their suffering and allow them to run and fly free.

PhotoHunt - Natural
Of course I could post a photo of myself for the theme "Natural" because I am naturally handsome, and a natural thing, being an animal and all. I am naturally floofy, have naturally long whiskers, etc etc. But I asked Mom to look through her photos for an interesting photo of something else natural, that was more scenic. We chose this photo taken when she and Dad were in Alaska and took a boat ride to Endicott Arm near Juneau. There were lots of small and larger icebergs from the glacier, and this one was especially interesting to look at. When icebergs are 'young" they can be especially blue, due to the pressure of the glacier compacting the ice. The water in this part was an unusual green color too.

Farewell and Floof on Friday
More sadness in the cat blogosphere today. Sweet Molly had to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. She had been getting very weak, and her Mom realized that the kindest thing to do for her Dowager Queen was to help her not to suffer. Although it was very sad for her Mom to have to do this and let her go, Molly lived almost 19 years, which is a wonderfully long life. Purrs go out to Molly's family. If you want to go over to her blog, click on her picture on the right side here.
Since I am sad about Molly, here 's a somewhat serious picture of me out on the deck, before Dad started his staining. Oh, and by the way, it seems even though the stain was not dry when the rain started, all looks okay. He is planning to do a second coat anyway. So, in this picture you can get an idea of how much of a ruff I have around my neck. Dad says it is a mane, and I am a lion. So Simba is an appropriate name for me.

Thursday in the Garden with Simba - a Mishap
.jpg)
Dad has rearranged everything on my deck in order to clean and stain it so I don't have any new pictures of my deck "garden". In fact, yesterday evening Dad got about half the floor stained after work, which was really terrific. After dinner a sudden storm came up and RAINED on the wet stain! Then a gust of wind blew down my favorite Swedish Ivy plant and smashed it and the pot all over the deck! Here is what it looked like last week, but I think now it will only be good for the compost pile. Maybe Mom can take cuttings and root them and start it again:
When Mom supervises me in the yard, I usually stick close to the foundation and go behind the bushes. A bonus is that it makes it harder for her to pick me up and bring me back inside, until *I* am ready. I look more accessible in this picture than I actually was:
Happy gardening, kitties! Please visit Jonesie the Founder of the Society of Feline Gardeners. She has a new WOOFIE in her garden!
