Funhouse Time

First of all, thanks so much to Sammy, Andy and Shelly's Mom for the new Header!   We wanted to get Audrey represented.

The Feline Funhouse is more fun this year than in the past.     Simba will go straight into it when he goes on the deck if the small tables are in there creating a shady area.
Audrey is also enjoying it, and doesn't seem to mind being zipped in for safety.    Mom and Dad still want to be sure Audrey doesn't escape into the garden, because she is unfamiliar with where they live and has never had an "outside" before, because her first Mom lived in apartments.
After a while, though, a girl can get ready to take a nap!

Thursday in the Garden with Simba and Audrey

 ::3 Paw Taps::

It is a great gardening day today.   Our weather is sunny and hot: supposed to reach about 90 F today!      In the late morning, Mom and Dad said we could both go on the deck.   Simba went right out:

but Audrey hung back on the mat by the door, because the harness was making her kinda boneless.
For those new to the blog,"The Garden" for us is mostly the deck, since that is where the humans plant new stuff.  The big garden is mostly trees and shrubs which don't change except for during shrub blooming seasons.   Our impatiens got started late, what with weddings and such, but they are looking pretty nice now.   There are three boxes of multicolored impatiens.
The catnip plant has bushed out and even has some flowers now.  Time to picks some, Mom!

There are two Swedish Ivy plants - they just grow so prolifically and look so nice and green!      This one is hung below a tube hummingbird feeder.

Here is a closeup of the feeder: yes, we do have some hummingbird visitors, or at least one, anyway.

This hanging pot of impatiens was actually started at the end of last summer, by taking cuttings from the plants they had then, before they were eaten by the deer for snacks before the winter.  The cuttings stayed alive and blooming inside through the winter and now are growing lots in the warm weather.   There is a second hummer feeder above that plant.

Our new adventure this year, for the first time in many years, is to grow some baby lettuce.    They only planted the seeds a few days ago, and look how fast they are sprouting!

They also planted some basil seeds that are JUST germinating - can you see a couple of tiny green plants?

Just to show you that Audrey did finally waddle her way through the door, onto the deck!!

Tuesday Twosome

We didn't stay like this for long, we have to admit, but we did really lie down next to each other.      The nip banana is a favorite toy for both of us:  Audrey is more of a toy playing cat that I am, and she gives it  real workout with lots of kicks.     My humans bought an Ess for her to try out and she can give it a real workout.  She also has a cardboard scratcher that she enjoys clawing to bits.  I watch her and the other day went up to the cardboard scratcher and gave it a try, which is a bit funny, seeing as I don't have my front claws.   But I still have some of that instinct to scratch at things, and I am very interested in what Audrey does.

Mancat Monday

Audrey has become so familiar with being here that she has started to pick fights with me.   As a Mancat, I have had to put her in her place a couple of times.      I can only swat at her, not scratch her, because my previous owners had me declawed.    But I can give a lightening fast whap.

And OF COURSE, Happy Independence Day to all in the United States!

Easy Sunday

Audrey is a  very active kitty but as you can see here, she does take it easy on occasions.    We had some chases and tussles yesterday before this picture was taken.

And a little later I decided it was time to take it easy too!

Happy July 3rd!   It is raining here and we plan to take it very easy.

Photo Hunt - Busy

This is not an easy theme for me for Photo Hunt, because most of the time I am decidedly NOT busy.   However these two pictures show me on outside excursions when you can tell, I had a mission on m mind (what mission?  To go and smell all the smells on all the bushes and stones in the universe!).

Fun on the Deck

After many days with lots of rainy weather, the last few days have been really nice.     Mom and Dad have introduced Audrey to the deck with her harness on (as seen in a previous post, she does go kind of boneless, as expected), and also in the Feline Funhouse.   We have even been zipped into the Funhouse together a couple of times, but I don't like them closing me in, preferring to be in there only with the flap open.      So some of the time she is in the Funhouse and I am out, as shown below.

My humans have tried my harnesses on Audrey as well, and she seemed a little more comfortable in my green one yesterday together with her pretty pink leash.  Of course she is smaller than I am so they had to adjust it for her.   My Puppia harness is just too huge on her and she got her front legs through the neck hole, which was pretty hilarious.   Sorry we don't have a picture of that.

Happy Friday July 1st!!   Wow, where did half a year go?
