When the parents were on their Christmas trip (and deserted me), they went to the Missouri Botanical Garden one day. The highlights were indoors: there was a beautiful display of Christmas wreaths, of which this is just one:
And a train show decorated all around with plants, especially beautiful poinsettias. The details in the villages and with the trains were so much fun!
They also did walk around the garden, because the weather was quite mild that day, although the Garden is much more beautiful during the spring, summer and fall. There are usually lilies in this lily pond. They did see several wonderful holly trees covered in red berries.
The snow came later, on Christmas Day; when they went for a walk in the Park: Mom likes these benches covered with snow.
Lovely photos for this gardening Thursday! How wonderful to have a botanical garden to visit!

ReplyDeleteThose were some very nice botanical garden shots. However, I do like it when you show the garden Simba. The Woman and the Male may go to Missouri sometime--either that or North Carolina. They are looking at potential retirement places.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics ~ mom especially liked the benches covered in snow ~ she said it was very arty.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty. We agree with your Mom Simba, those garden benches look beautiful covered in snow.
