Thursday in the Garden with Simba - a Mishap
Dad has rearranged everything on my deck in order to clean and stain it so I don't have any new pictures of my deck "garden". In fact, yesterday evening Dad got about half the floor stained after work, which was really terrific. After dinner a sudden storm came up and RAINED on the wet stain! Then a gust of wind blew down my favorite Swedish Ivy plant and smashed it and the pot all over the deck! Here is what it looked like last week, but I think now it will only be good for the compost pile. Maybe Mom can take cuttings and root them and start it again:
When Mom supervises me in the yard, I usually stick close to the foundation and go behind the bushes. A bonus is that it makes it harder for her to pick me up and bring me back inside, until *I* am ready. I look more accessible in this picture than I actually was:
Happy gardening, kitties! Please visit Jonesie the Founder of the Society of Feline Gardeners. She has a new WOOFIE in her garden!

ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday Simba. Maybe next year for the plant!
ReplyDeleteHi, handsome Simba.....we're sad your plant got "busted"......hopefully your mom will take some cuttings and start a new one.
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous day. xxxxxx
That's a drag about your plant, wonder if you can save any of it? Your Dad was probably not too happy about his work getting ruined by the rain either!
ReplyDeleteOh, we're sorry about your Swedish ivy! It's a lovely plant, we think rooting some cuttings is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck to your dad on getting the deck stained!
Sorry abowt the plant ... taking a cutting ot three, sounds a good idea. Yoor Dad must have been most disappointed about the decking. Purrs.
ReplyDeleteWe're sorry your plant got busted up and that your dad's new stain got rained on. Hope they both turn out okay.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea to stay behind bushes so your mom doesn't pick you up to go in before you are ready to!
It's too bad about your plant. Rain happens...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a whole lot of excitement Simba...that look on your cute face says it all.
ReplyDeleteAw, that was a gorgeous Swedish ivy - that's too bad it got smashed. I hope your human gets some cuttings from it and grows another pretty plant.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Too bad for your dad...does he hafta start all over again with the staining?? And too bad for that Swedish Ivy. Well, at least your mom can salvage some of it to make another one...maybe it will be that big and pretty by next summer!!
ReplyDeleteYou should always get your own way gorgeous Simba. You rule!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the rain and the wind wrecking everything! At least it didn't blow you away!
ReplyDeleteOh drats Simba
ReplyDeleteWe know how upsetting it must have been to lose the swedish ivy plant. But those do grow easily, we hope you're able to salvage some of it.

Hope you had a good day in the garden sweet Simba! Your orange fur is extra cute amongst the green plants!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day!

Whew! Your Dad did a lot of work just to get it rained on! Mommy says the Swedish Ivy is practically unkillable and to do cuttings.
ReplyDeleteThe Baby likes to run behind the Lemon tree where it's thorny and tease Daddy to pry her out...she's naughty!
Mom is hopeless in the garden!!
ReplyDeleteOur Teri needs to work on 'our' deck too...she has the stuff, just not the urge she said. We hope your mom can bring that hurted plant back to life, and you look quite contemplative in the bushes there...
