Impatiens Recycling

I don't have a picture of the deer to show you, yet, because they come during the night or at dusk, or early morning. But here is the evidence that they have been around:

These are four of our five impatiens boxes. Not only did they nibble away the flowers, when they came back they snacked the plants just about down to the nubbins! We were really surprised. Mom and Dad had thought they would be able to have nice flowers along the driveway for a little, but they were wrong. This picture shows me for the short time I actually stood up and walked while I was out with my harness. It wasn't for long but Mom has hope. Those deer must have left some interesting smells on the boxes, because I was very interested in sniffing them.

  2. Oh gosh, Mom saw your picture of Fuzzy that you put up. Thanks for doing that. He deserves to be recognized. Thanks again for putting it on your sidebar. That is just super.
Simba, glad you are getting a little used to your harness.
    Take care.

  3. You are going to have to hire someone to watch over things at night. Maybe get a security person out there. Not too nice of the deer to take things that don't belong to them.

  4. Wow, they sure cleaned out the flowers! We don't get deer here (well once a couple of years ago we had 1!). I think they are cute.

  5. Oh Deer! (MOL!) He must have really liked your Impatiens. We had a squirrel in our garden Sunday who dug up one of our Pansies, but that's nothing compared to what that deer did.

  6. It's too bad that the deer don't come around in the day so your mum can get a picture. But a picture of your beautiful self Simba is always nice :-)

  8. Ah that is too bad. Sometimes they get all of our tulips here and we hate that!

  9. We've never seen deer, but we do hear they are very vishus! Especially toward flowers, apparently!

  10. Simba, you're walking good without your leash. It's too bad about the Mom's flowers.

  11. I guess those deer were really hungry! It's getting to be late fall, so maybe they are having a hard time finding good stuff to eat!

  12. Impatiens must be super tasty to the deer.
Is that deer drool you're sniffing?

  13. Wow, those deer were quite hungry! My mom has a huge garden and anything left unprotected gets chomped by the deer, so she covers things in chicken wire at night.

  14. Those deer sure enjoyed those flowers! They must have left some good smells for you to get up in your harness and sniff around too. We have hope like your mom that you'll be walking around in your harness before long!
