Marvelous Memories Monday

Saturday was a big leaf clearing day for Dad, but it was a beautiful day for doing it. After he finished blowing the leaves into piles using a backpack blower, he raked them onto a burlap cloth and dragged them to a big leaf pile in our way back yard. At this stage, Mom brought me outside with my harness and a leash. It was wonderful being out there, although I still mostly laid around, because the darn harness still makes me lose my bones a lot. But occasionally I would forget and walk a little. The leash also gives me the heeby jeebies - Mom is thinking about buying a longer one, or one the extends and retracts.

Hope everycat had a great weekend!

  1. You look great out there, Simba! You're coming along with the harness, so that's great. Hopefully a different leash will be better for you.

  3. We know that the harness and leash are hard to get used to, Simba, but you seem to be making good progress! Have a good Monday.

  4. Hey Simba, you'll get used to the harness...just keep letting your Mom put it on you and soon you won't even notice it...seriously...Tiny and I have had to wear them all our lives at certain moments so we know and speak from experience. The leash too is something you will get used to. Our Mom uses the retractable one and that is perfect for us cats. You know what is really fun is to have your Mom toss you onto/into the pile of leaves..oh it smells great and so fun!!! Purrs, Lautrec and Tiny (and Ellwood DaMeenDawg)

  5. You look like you have a great bit of weather to hang out there--even if you are just lying around!

  6. Simbam, I think you will eventually get use to that harness. Especially if it means you get to go outside! Now my mom bought me one of those retractable leashes and it scared the heebeejeebees out of me! I don't know if it was the sound of it or what, but I hid under the bed for hours after I saw it! My mom returned it to the store because from my reaction, she knew I would never get use to it. Not sure you will have the same problem...I know Milo and Alfie use a retractable leash with no problems at all.

  8. We used to use an extendable leash with Yuu-Chan's harness and that did work very well!

  10. Simba, I am like you... still not sold on the collar. But then, anything that gets put on me causes me to have no bones. I don't seem to have many to begin with!

  11. How nice to go outside. You'll get used to the leash, then you'll be running through the leaves.

  12. Simba, Outside is Good! Harness is Bad! I slipped out of mine yesterday and wandered the yard NOOD until Daddy rudely snatched me up.

  13. We're glad you went out for awhile in your harness even though it takes away your bones. It was nice of you to snoopervise your dad with the leaves too!

  14. Did you leap in the leaves and scat them everywhere?

  15. Poor Simba ~ but at least you got to be outside for awhile and smell all the good sniffies! Banjo doesn't get outside too often. All he does is eat the grass and then a few hours later it ends up on my carpet... :( But of course, now there is snow and he is too wimpy of a kitty to go out in the cold! :)

Hope you have a lovely week Simba!

  18. It's hard to remember you are tied to a string when you see something fun moving in the distance. Snafu is learning harness too. I hope you do well on it. Good Luck and enjoy while the weather is good!
