Feline Not-so-Funhouse: Wordy Wednesday

I have taken to escaping from the deck with such regularity that Mom decided I needed some sort of enclosure. She and Dad discussed him building one with pvc pipe and connectors and plastic netting and they even went to Home Depot to check out supplies for it, but HD didn't have all the right types of connectors that would be needed. Although that project is not completely dead, in the meantime, Mom ordered a Feline Funhouse for me from amazon.com. I am quite happy to go in it, by myself, and they even have put my table canopy and (of course) a towel in there for my comfort.

But I don't like it when they close the zippered flap and I get left by myself in it for a while. So we will have to see how much of a success it is going to be.

I was thinking maybe it would make a good butterfly enclosure for when those chrysalis things emerge as butterflies. This is how they looked yesterday morning: darker and a lot more woody. Audrey's comment on my last post was probably spot-on: crispy with a creamy center.

  1. We hope that the right connectors turn up at HD and you get a bigger and more fun enclosure, Simba!

  2. Maybe you will get used to it in time. At least you can enjoy the fresh air.

  3. Poor Simba, I guess it's no fun to be put in there, but it is not safe to leave the deck and wander around by yourself!

What about a baby gate (or cat gate if you prefer) to close off the deck?

  4. So the funhouse is not so much fun when it's zipped up? You look very comfy in there otherwise, and we think it's good that your humans are looking out for your safety.

  5. We don't think we'd like the fun house when it was zipped up either, Simba!!!!!!!

  6. Man--that's not a great fun house if you don't have fun inside!

  7. That kitty tent looks cool, but yeah, not with the flap shut! Nobody wants to be caged like some animal! Oh, wait a minute...

  8. So, you are in the fun house because you escape yet the fun house is unzipped so you can escape. Hmmm. You must be just letting them think you'll stay in it instead of escaping - is that it Simba?

  9. Well, Beaded Tail friends, it was the very first time I had been in it, so my folks wanted me to feel free to come and go as I wanted to for a little while.

  11. How about a foldable dog (gasp!) enclosure with netting for a roof? When we first moved we had a 4' x 8' enclosure that we had to go outside. You can get them at Petsmart for not too many $$.

  12. Now that looks like a nice safe place for kitties to get some fresh air but still be protected ~ I like it! Hmmm... I wonder if my kitty would go for something like that! :)

Thanks for visiting my blog ~ you are adorable Simba ~ I will be back!
