Friday Post for the Earth

I didn't post about Earth Day yesterday, so today I wanted to make a pitch for people to recycle their catfood cans. By recycling a year's worth of cans, you can picture the size of the pile of aluminum that would make. Apparently people are more likely to recycle soft drink cans than petfood cans, perhaps because of needing to rinse them out. My Mom sets mine in the sink with a bit of water and then rinses it out after washing the rest of the dishes. She is going to try harder to recycle ALL the lids from now on.

  1. We do that at our house too. It is easy like you just showed. Happy Earth Day.

P.S., I think you look a lot like Dante (from Wendy's LOL Spot fame) in that photo.

  3. Good for you!! We work hard to get away from buying stuff in plastic containers like detergent. We look for brands that sell stuff in cartons. Kind of like deciding on "paper or plastic."

  4. The city picks up our recycling and we have to stick cans and stuff in a clear plastic bag. Well! Our bag is always about 85% cat food cans!

  5. Good advice Simba! We try to recycle every can too so we don't feel guilty getting more cans of stinky goodness!

  7. Have a purrific weekend Simba! We don't use cans at our house, we eat raw food that our Mom makes. We try to reuse, recycle or compost everything. You are the greenest ginger cat we know! xoxo
