Update

We were so glad Audrey's first Mom was able to post for us last night.   No changes really, but Mom has gone to her work today for a few hours so can finally get on the internet.   We expect no electricity for 7-10 days according to our power company.  Many trees are down around our neighborhood, some on houses even.  Roads are difficult to get around, but the important thing is that most people in our area do seem to have been safe, and it is not winter yet, so a chilly house is still habitable.     After all, we have fur!

Mom had some naughty thoughts and wondered what will happen to the birth rate in 9 months' time in the places that are dealing with power outages.   Or she figures she doesn't even have to wonder!

Purrs for all those even more badly affected in places like the coasts of several states, and those affected by the flooding in New York.     It will be a lot of time before that problem gets sorted out.

Snuggle some loved ones, kitties!

  2. Stay safe my friends!

A week or more is such a long time to go without power. When we lose our power, we lose our water, too. Does that happen to you? That's what my peeps hate the most. But we've never gone more than a day with electricity. You're in our thoughts. My fur-family and I are purring up a storm for you. purrs

  4. I am glad to hear that everyone in your neighborhood is safe, if inconvenienced by no power for the next week or so. Lots of kitties and humans on the East Coast need purrs still!

I have been following the news on the Atlantic City Boardwalk feral kitties, and it sounds like they made it through the storm!

  5. Cheers erupted through the Realm at hearing this good news. Will the kittie birth rate go up as well as the human one?

  10. Will you be okay foodwise? I can't think of many things that don't need cooking or refrigeration....

  11. No power for such a long time is a bear, but the damage was pretty incredible. I made our power company PNM send 40 people and trucks out there to help out. ;-)

  12. I hope you'll get your power back sooner. Your area was hit hard. Pop works in lower Manhattan and his office has been closed all week. They have no electricity and the subways are still flooded.

  13. Good to hear from you. Wethinks there will be very many Sandy babies in 9 months! As there's no power you need to keep your humans warm. And we hope Audrey's feeder still has enough batteries. Keep safe.

  14. So very glad to hear you are okay except for no power (which is bad enough M says). We've heard from most of our pals and everyone seems to be okay, but there are still so many without power all over the eastern seaboard. Our hearts go out to all of you.

  15. Oh my mom sure does feel badly for you. She has been through a more limited set of time with problems and in New Jersey too. The Deleware flooded the town she lived in and the water level filled the basement and flooded downstairs. But she doesn't remember having to do without electricity that long at all. We are thinking of you all and everyone else affected daily, believe me. xxoo

  18. Mistletoe here, my huMom and the rest of the bipeds are whining about the lose of power. It's only been about 72 hours. What a bunch of babies. At least my huMom got a friend to charge her phone and iPad, and there's plenty of cat food in the house. Although, I find I'm missing the kitty fountains. I'll have to get someone to turn on a facet for me is there's no power soon! Cross you fingers for us, we know their working hard to make repairs.
