Around this time of year the humans bring the deck plants in for the winter. In some cases they have extra plants that cannot be brought in due to space considerations (such as having 2 spider plants etc) and they choose the best one to come inside. Due to the tropical storm/hurricane expected to affect us tomorrow till Tuesday, today is going to be the day for getting the deck cleared and secured. Here is a fun picture of Audrey from earlier in the summer when we still had impatiens plants blooming. She jumped up onto the table to check out the plants Dad had put there. Notice that even then, the Spider plant had plenty of "spider babies" on it: now there are even more.
With so many trees in our area, we will not be the least bit surprised if we lose power early in this storm, and it may take a lot of days for the power to get back on. Which means no internet!! How will we cope? We will all have serious withdrawal symptoms. Anyway, if we go silent, that is why. Maybe Mom will be able to connect to the internet sooner at work than at home.
Simba and Audrey we really hope you and all those you know and love will be safe from the storms. Paws are crossed it will pass peacefully. We'll be looking out for updates.
ReplyDeleteWe sure hope the hurricane doesn't hurt you at all. Maybe it will calm down. Anyway, we sure are keeping our paws crossed for all of you. We will be thinking about you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI hope you've got a good supply of the nip, in. Nip gets us cats through even the worst of storms. purrs

ReplyDeleteWe are sending our best thoughts your way and hoping that the stupid Hurricane Sandy bites the dust very soon.
ReplyDeleteWe're hoping it doesn't turn into "Frankenstorm," as we keep hearing. It's supposed to affect us next week, about mid-week right now, unless it tracks differently.
ReplyDeletePaws crossed everyone stays safe!
We're sending lots of good vibes that you keep your power. We've had a cold and windy day here but nothing like what you're experiencing!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Purrs and paws crossed that you stay safe while Sandy visits - and that you manage to hang onto your power!
ReplyDeleteWe are all purring that everything will be okay and you will stay high and dry (and connected) during the storm!
ReplyDeleteWatch those spider plants. They're extremely toxic to cats. TW had one a LONG time ago and Faith got VERY sick from chewing on it.
ReplyDeleteWe're preparing for the storm also. Since we're up high, we don't worry about flooding but we worry about the windows blowing in and losing power. Our hot water heater also goes out the moment the wind picks up.
We hope you all will weather the storm OK! You had your share of bad weather this spring, already.
ReplyDeleteWe are purring that you all stay safe and sound!
ReplyDeletePurrs and hugs from all of us, we will be worrying about you.
ReplyDeleteBe safe you guys! Hoping the storm isn't as bad as they're saying....Paws crossed for you....
ReplyDeleteDo you kids eat the spider plant? 'Cause Aggie and Wally and Miss Madie Mitten Kitten have completely devoured and destroyed several. Is it jus tthem? Or are they really tasty?
ReplyDeleteSending purrs out to alla yous cos of that dumb Sandy! That Woman's boss was visiting NY and now she's stuck! First time in forever they closed down the airports! Hang tough!

We are purring and praying you are safe, Simba & Audrey. If you lose your internet, maybe you'll have to look for it under the covers. Might require a nice long nap.
