Photo Hunt - Wooden
This week's Photo Hunt theme is a good one for us, because our deck is WOODEN. Dad built the deck himself quite a lot of years ago, and all the boards of the floor go on the diagonal, with no seams or joins. It is pretty cool. This picture emphasizes the floor boards taking it from the back door. It actually makes the deck look a lot wider than it is. For most of its width it is 12 feet wide and it is about 20 feet long, which (we agree) is a generous size for a deck. Then there is a second, smaller section below at one end.
And as most of you know from the fact that I post a lot of pictures of us on the deck, Audrey and I both love to go out there as much as possible.
We LOVED all the caption suggestions for yesterday's post!!!!!

That is a great deck you two have, but I wooden jump of if I were you!
ReplyDeleteMine was built ( 12X12) in back by a co=worker..a suoervisor Boiler Maker where I work(ed). He did a super job and deliberately made the pailings very close together so that if I slipped out unknown to mama, I couldn't squeeze thru the pailings and jump (waaaaay) down and be lost. It was his idea. I would LOVE to get out on it. Our first deck had diagonal boards too. We have a kazillion leaves as we live on the edge of a forest (no, really!) and trying to sweep off ziooions of leaves each Fall was harder for mom with the diagonals. So she opted for the straight ones.
ReplyDeleteHave a good whiffy day you two. Simba..maybe we should swing by and get Treasure?
That is a really nice deck. We like to lounge on our porch too and it is no where as nice as that deck. You two look very happy out there.
