We have had a medium amount of snow this winter - nothing like New England, but enough so that it really doesn't melt much between storms. When Dad clears our snow, he also clears a path around the perimeter of the deck. So we have this quite big hill of snow in the middle of the deck. This is what it looks like from our family room door, where I like to sit and watch the birdies (Dad also throws some seed on the snow there, as well as keeping the bird feeders filled.) That is our patio table on its side so it doesn't break from the weight of snow on top of it.
Here is a closer-up picture of three of the little birds getting their seed.
Mr Squirrel came to realize there was something edible there that he could get to as well:
We have even had some pretty cardinals eating from the scattered seed but could not get a picture. But here you can see one at the feeder.
What great TV you have, Simba! Your dad is good to throw out the seed and fill bird feeders. I'm sure that's great entertainment for you!

ReplyDeleteOh yummmmmmmmmm, there are a couple of big birdies there that sure do look tasty. But, M wouldn't let me have one anyway, so I will continue to drool in anticipation for catching one in my dreams.

ReplyDeleteYou have great TV there! We've barely seen any birds all winter, never mind any squirrels. Everyone is hunkered down against the extreme cold!
