Thursday in the Garden

:::meoww:::
Kitties, it has really been wild here at our house!    We had a lot of damage done to our trees last October with the freaky snowstorm, and also all the trees have been in need of trimming and pruning anyway.  Mom and Dad also wanted to get limbs near the house trimmed back. But it was not till this week that then men could come to do the work.     They actually drove their truck with the bucket extension on it into our back yard and left it parked there overnight!!       Here is a picture of the truck parked in our yard (they used special mats so as to minimize the damage to the lawn though it did get somewhat chewed up in places):

and one of them using it to get to the high branches: the other truck with the wood chipper is parked in front on the driveway:

We were very interested in everything, and the weather was warm on Tuesday, so after they left we got to be out on the deck again.   But it was also close to dinner time, so finally we asked very definitely to go in to eat!

  2. Were you skeered with dat big truck intruding on your property?

  3. We were amazingly NOT skeered. Of course Audrey is the totally brave one, but Simba didn't hide either. Audrey even escaped out into the yard one time and was pretty nonchalant, thank goodness. She really enjoyed looking up at the men up in the trees. And the trucks and stuff were noisy, but we did fine. Of course none of the men came into our house. That might have made us run UTB or in the basement!

  5. One of us (Derry) would have been watching from UTB! LOL.

    You certainly have had a very exciting week--maybe extra exciting for Audrey, since we read in your comment that she escaped into the yard. :-)

  6. Sounds like you had a super exciting time. Big noisy trucks and equipment like that can be kind of scary, I think, but as cats we get oh-so-curious, huh? Bet you had a great time sniffing the air and exploring when the men had all left for the night. Stay safe!

  11. I don't think I'd like one of those big trucks on my property. Fortunately there is no way to get one back there. When my human needed a tree removed, the workers had to bring equipment in by hand.

  20. Wow, great excitement around your house. Bet it was very noisy. Please tell your Mom thanks so much for coming to visit us. And we are sending some strong purrs that the darn pinched nerve becomes unpinched. Tell it to turn loose. Have a great week end.
