Cheysuli's
Find Chey Friday post where she was lost in Skagway Alaska caused Mom and me to go back through their Alaska trip pictures from June 2009. We thought you might like to see pictures of a couple of the small planes they flew in: there were four flights in small planes all together: the first one from Juneau to Gustavus near Glacier Bay (here is arriving in Gustavus):
and the last one from Skagway to Juneau - this is the plane after landing in Juneau. It was actually the biggest plane they took: carrying six people rather than only four.
Mom says it was at both times exciting and exhilarating, and also petrifyingly scary. Especially the last flight in the rain (you can see the wet pavement at the airport).
Myself, I don't do planes, so though I had to stay home alone for 2 weeks, I preferred that rather than having to go on any airplane!
We wouldn't wanna fly in those planes either, Simba! We keep our 4 paws firmly on the ground!!
ReplyDeleteHey, we like the look of your blog too!
The Male would not let the Woman go up in a small plane. He says too many crash in Alaska, especially tourist planes so they did not do any flying stuff.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pics with us.
ReplyDeleteOur mama's cousin has a small plane.....mama says it's quite an experience to travel in it, but she was glad it was in Europe and not in Alaska!!!!!!
She still prefers the big uns and will crawl on one of them any time she gets a chance!!!!!!!!
We luvsya.
Our Mom doesn't like to fly either. So we know she wouldn't get on one of those little jobs. Probably it would be fun but she would be too scart. Take care and have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Momma says small planes are WAY scarier than big planes! We wouldn't like to fly either.
ReplyDeleteWe wouldn't want to fly in those little planes either Simba! Unless we could see moose or maybe Russia from way up there! MOL!
ReplyDeleteSmall planes are fun for people, but too noisy for cats. Although, in Sarawak I've been on those little planes with people and fighting cocks. Those birds didn't mind it at all.
ReplyDeleteOur mum would be very nervous to get on one of them.
ReplyDeleteRe. Chey's comment. The Beans flew from Seattle to Anchorage on a bigger plane. A week after they got home there was a programme on the TV about the same type of plane they went on and how some of them had gone into a nosedive and crashed. They never would have gone on it if they saw the programme before they went.
How could they have left you Simba!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about those planes...they are teeny tiny. I've been on small planes in Scotland that sat about 8 or 10...but the ones in your pictures look like toys - LOL! Glad you made it back safely :-)
Excellent photos my friend, but the new header is AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteInigo sends gentle nosetaps :)
Mom used to fly small planes ~ and parachute, and glide, and hot air balloon, and parascend ~ she was a bit of a crazy-pants for air sport when she was young. So she loved the pics. Fanks.
ReplyDeleteWe prefer our paws on the ground though.
