Wordy Wednesday

Some of my plants are behaving a little oddly this June. This one is called a CHRISTMAS cactus, and this is the first time it has sprouted so many flowers in the summer. I think it is because it was already outside in early May when we had some near-freezing weather. Hard to imagine now with all the hot weather.

Sometimes my Mom thinks that her Mommy and sister in heaven help the Christmas cactuses here to bloom as their special way to be near her. She got this plant in honor of her sister lots of years ago. Maybe it was a special blooming at the time of my brother's wedding.

  1. Mama thinks that Gammy once told her that cactus doesn't flower every year - although she's not sure if that is true or she imagined it. MOL! Silly Mama.

  2. We're glad to know that we aren't the only ones who are getting surprised by plants this year! That's a beautiful cactus.

  3. That is a pretty cactus but it is strange that it is flowering now. Our mum has a very old pink one. It used to belong to her Mother in Law and is at least 50 years old. It flowers every year around mid November and lasts into the New Year.

  5. That is very odd that your Christmas cactus is blooming now. Maybe it is a good sign from your angel auntie?
