The humans went tot he Big Island of Hawaii, and with traveling time, were there for 7 1/2 days. They had a good time. They did quite a lot of snorkeling, and visited beaches and saw some of the feral kitties who live there. We will post about that soon. The last 3 days were spent at the Volcanoes National Park. They found that part very interesting. On their last day they were there for the official release of the Volcanoes National Park quarter. It is part of the America the Beautiful series on the National Parks. Mom copied this picture from eBay:
They had a cool ceremony with dignitaries, hula dancers, musicians and everything there (in the rain!), and Mom and Dad were able to get some of the new coins to save. That was the only rain they had on their vacation, of course!
Mom is going to go and take us out on the deck now, because we have missed being able to go out there. She will add a picture or two of us later.

Here we are, checking out how well the catnip plant and the other plants have grown:
Our cat sitter also took care of watering the plants and putting out nectar for the hummingbirds, and he did a good job with the plants. We think the hummers may have migrated south now. We hope they missed Isaac!
We are delighted to hear your Mom and Dad had a great holiday.

Whoa! Glad your humans had a fun time on vacation. TW collects one of all those state quarters. She's going to have to look for that one. It's beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was an exciting trip and we are happy they had a good time. I know you are glad to be able to go on the deck again and am glad you have a good neighbor to help out. PT
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful to see your mom and dad back, Audrey and Simba and you seem as though you are VERY well and happy and now, everything is back in order for your sweet selves and your mom and dad got a MUCH deserved vacation. XXXOOO to all 4 of you and the cat sitter too.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad your mom and dad had a nice vacation and that you had such an attentive cat sitter! It is good they are home again though so you can get back out on your deck! It's pretty cool they were there when the quarter came out!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom is soooooo jealous! Hawaii is her favorite place! She has never been to the big Island...Just Kauai...Mom can't wait to read about it!
ReplyDeleteLove, cody
Did they bring you back a grass skirt? They are yummy!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad that you were so well cared for! Our Mommy loved the volcano park. She wants her ashes spread there. (Hopefully not for a long time ~Trish)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great sitter you have! Mommy has yet to find a sitter she can trust so that just means she NEVER gets to go away for a holiday. And that's fine with us. MOL!
ReplyDeleteOh you are so good at secrets! Me not suspect a fing.
ReplyDeleteMine mommy and daddy goes there too when it was cold here. We not gets to stay in our house, on account of mine diabetes.

Be sure you guilt them into lots of extra treats!
ReplyDeleteWell, that's a bummer that you got no deck time! I hope you got lots of nip to make up for it.
ReplyDeleteWe're happy to hear your humans had a nice time. And that they had someone taking care of you...though not quite as good as them! We hope you get lots of deck time now that your humans are home.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed your trip, we just love hawaii!!! Nice to see the kitties out having a good time on the deck, they don't look any the worse for wear :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry--what is all this "Glad the Humans had a good time" nonsense in the comments, I ask you? Really, what SHOULD be said is, This is UN-AC-CEP-TA-BLE, unacceptable!
ReplyDeleteFirst, they ABANDONED you to some freaking TEENAGER--it's a wonder you didn't STARVE!! You both look a little thin to me, right?
Then they spent all that money that could've bought scads and scads and scads of NOMS and TREATS and TOYS to look at some dumb islands in a bunch of water--hey! Make some mud pies in the backyard people--same thing! Oooooh, and a volcano....well, lemme tell you, on an old episode of The Brady Bunch, some 7-year-old made his own volcano and I bet it didn't cost more than $2.00.
So, sorry if I'm not jumping on the bandwagon here. I think your Mom and Dad OWE you and Audrey Big Time! You need to make them feel so guilt-ridden that you two get whatever you want at least till the first of the year.
I guess I mighta got a little over excited yesterday. Maybe your peeps aren't so bad after all. But I've had a tought couple of weeks and I'm not inclined to give the Humans any breaks, ya know?
