Dedications to Two Sweet Kitties

Today our post is dedicated to two kitties, one old one and one very young one:

Miss Peach, who lived 18 wonderful years and yesterday went to the Rainbow Bridge.   Fly free and be well and strong again, Miss Peach!    You can read the wonderful poem in tribute to her on her blog here.

Little Beignet, just a kitten, who has developed Vaccine Associated Sarcoma and must have a second surgery today.   His Mom who was to be, Paula, is so sad.   His sister Truffle will still be coming to her forever home with Paula, but not Beignet.   Please read about Beignet on their blog here.  Update:   Dear little Beignet passed away and went to the Rainbow Bridge during his surgery.    Such a new little kitty life, over so soon.

Many purrs from us.

  2. We are so sad about Miss Peach. A gentler ladycat there will never be. And poor Beignet...we send purrs to him and mom Paula.

  3. It's a very sad time around the CB. We knew Miss Peach would pass soon, but it still leaves a huge hole for her humans and for all of us around the Blogosphere.

Beignet's diagnosis was a shock, though. We really expected he'd be fine, that the pathology report would be negative. :-(

  4. Heartbreaking. I saw this as I was about to log off to go to therapy. Truly heartbreaking for both babies. Much love to Miss Peach's family and Mom Paula.

  7. It truly is one sad day on the cat blogosphere today. We are especially sad for Paula and Beignet. We sure hope they can get all that cancer out of him and it doesn't come back.
And very sad about Miss Peach. Take care.

  12. We are so sad for Miss Peach's family are just overcome for poor Mom Paula and Mom Terri for little Beignet. We do not wish to minimize the loss of a long time friend like Misses Peach but we knew she would be leaving and it was time--hard though it is. Beignet was so young and so cute and had everything ahead that it has just thrown us.

  15. We were very sad about Miss Peach but she was old and we think ready to meet her old friends at Rainbow Bridge. Sweet Beignet - we cried so much for such a sweet baby to have Vaccine Associated Sarcoma - it is something we had never heard of before and hope it is extremely rare. He went to the Bridge before his life had properly begun.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  16. Thank you for posting about Beignet. I think I'm still in shock. I never had the chance to show him all the love he would ever want or need.
